This is great stuff!! Thanks so much!
I know this might not work for everyone, but I am an auditory/visual learner--which is why online classes are not a good idea for me! So, when preparing for an exam I will set up a whiteboard in a quiet room a couple days ahead. Then I will take the professor's study-guide or unit outline and over two or three days I "teach" the material to myself. I always take detailed notes during class so that I can repeat the exact examples and highlights the professor gives so, in effect, I am just verbally reviewing the professor's lecture. I use this technique mostly for math so I can talk myself through a problem, and I have also used this a lot for Chemistry. It is so helpful for me to better understand a concept when I try and explain it to someone else...that is why I like doing this.
This might seem funny, but it has worked really well for me in the past!
